Beginning February 1st, 2006 The Youth Expressions is proud to announce the opening of the Youth Expressions Technology and Exploration Center (YETEC). - This program is funded and supported by the Green Family Foundation (www.greenff.org)
Our mission is to create opportunities to use computers for all individuals and reduce the technological inequities experienced by low-income and disadvantaged citizens and small businesses in economically distressed neighborhoods in Miami-Dade County. In an effort to eliminate the digital divide, YETEC offers a relaxed and friendly environment for those least likely to have access to computer technology and internet resources. It is YETEC’s goal to increase the local community’s exposure to the world of computer technology and provide work-related skills.
Youth Expressions’ Technology and Exploration Center (YETEC) offers fundamental courses in computer technology ranging from Introduction to Computers to MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Internet at no cost. Our organization strives to positively impact the sharp decline recently identified in the Miami Dade County job pool.  With a total number of twenty computers, all internet accessible, YETEC provide services such as computer classes and computer access center.  Our students are given the option of enrolling in traditional-instructor led courses or registering online through GCFLearnFree for self-paced instruction.  Both of these options are provided onsite in both English and Spanish.  It is the goal of Youth Expressions Technology and Exploration YETEC to teach entry-level computer courses in Creole in the near future.

By targeting the young, adult and senior population (ages 15-75), YETEC strives to deliver the necessary computer skills to our students so that they may be competitive within the present job market. In an effort to further enhance career-building skills
